Some say that I am very slow on what is new in the industry. The thing is this blog is not about what is happening and the new trends that behoove us all right now. This blog is a journal of my thoughts and my love for fashion. Occasionally maybe I'll celebrate the newest trends or take a look at fashion week. Honestly, I am just writing about my thoughts and expressing what fashion is in many other people who can't grasp it like others.
Once again I must state that fashion is more than a fashion show or the newest trends. Sometimes it makes me laugh because, the readers who want so much of what is going on doesn't know the power that they hold. Just because, the editor in chief of Elle magazine says skinny jeans are out doesn't me you have to reject the skinny jeans. The world outside the fashion community should make magazines write about the people who actually make the trends. The people who do that, you may ask. Big department stores like Barney's, Macy, Nordstroms should get credit for our fashion state right now. Celebrity s should also get credit because, most urban communities weren't wearing bandannas around their necks until they saw Chris Brown do it. We the people, should also get credit because, without us there wouldn't be no fashion to write about. Lastly, designers do need a little credit. You only get what they put out. So somehow we are dependent on them. However, the group that gets the tiniest input into anything are magazines. We forget that they write about what is going on and they predict what might happen next. What they write is not the bible and you shouldn't live by it.
