I got a letter from a reader and I thought it was worth discussing. They asked why the fashion enthused seem to always be dressed up even with jeans. This topic was something I never thought of before. I didn't really have an answer at first. The first thing I did to answer this query was examine my fashion experience.
I realized that the 'fashion enthused' seem to think deeply about what they wear everyday. (I spend at least 20-45 minutes picking out an outfit.) I also think that part of the reason that we might seem dressed up everyday is because of the quality clothing that we seem to pick. Rich fabrics and decorations make a difference in what the whole visual picture will look like. Lastly, when you are enthusiastic about something you like you want to be the best in it. So the more 'fashion enthused' you are, the more dressed up and polished you will be.
